Lead generation for insurance brokers

Cover written for a foreign national is a different product from the domestic equivalent, sold to someone who has just discovered their old policy does not follow them.

A purchase with a date on it

Insurance has something most expat services lack: a renewal. Every policy has a date, and around that date the holder is briefly willing to consider alternatives in a way they are not at any other point.

For an expat audience that window is more valuable than usual, because many are on a policy they took out in a hurry on arrival, from whoever the estate agent or the relocation firm recommended, and have never reviewed since.

Add the arrivals, who need cover immediately and have no incumbent at all, and you have two reliable sources of demand rather than one.

Renewals

A date when the market genuinely reopens

Arrivals

Immediate need, no incumbent provider

Recurring

Annual revenue, not a one-off transaction

The lines that work

Not all cover sells the same way to this audience. These are the ones where being a foreign national genuinely changes the product.

Health

Private medical

The highest value and the most urgent, particularly where state cover is unavailable or poorly understood.

Home

Buildings and contents

Property owned by non-residents, often empty part of the year, which domestic policies handle badly.

Motor

Vehicle cover

Foreign licences, no local claims history, and imported vehicles all complicate a standard quote.

Life

Protection and critical illness

Written for a non-resident, usually alongside a mortgage or a family move.

Travel

Frequent return trips

This audience flies home often, and standard annual policies are frequently the wrong shape.

Liability

Landlord and business

Rental owners and small business operators, generally underinsured and rarely advertised to.

Why no claims history is your opening

A foreign national arriving in a new market usually has no local claims history, no local credit footprint and no relationship with a local insurer. To a standard domestic quoting engine they look like a risk, and they are priced accordingly.

For a broker who understands the situation and can place it properly, that is the whole proposition. It is also a message that lands immediately, because the customer has almost certainly just been quoted something that made no sense to them.

The same applies to health cover, where the gap between what people assume they are entitled to and what they actually are is wide, and discovering it usually happens at the worst possible moment.

How we run insurance campaigns

  • Renewal timing where it is knownCover type and renewal month asked in the funnel, so enquiries arrive with a usable date attached.
  • Arrivals targeted separatelyRecent arrival to a country is reachable, and it identifies people with immediate need and no incumbent.
  • Line of cover qualified upfrontWhat they need before the phone number, so a broker is not spending time establishing the basics.
  • Compliance built inNo claims about cover or outcomes that cannot be substantiated, to the same standard we apply in UK financial services.
  • Checked and delivered fastNumbers and emails checked as the lead comes in, repeat enquiries flagged and never charged twice, delivered in seconds.

Questions brokers ask

Can you target people near renewal?

Partly. Renewal dates are not directly targetable, but they are capturable. The funnel asks for cover type and renewal month, so enquiries arrive with a date you can work to, and the rest is your follow-up process.

Which line of cover performs best?

Health usually, on value and urgency. Home is close behind in property-heavy markets. Motor generates volume but at lower value per policy.

Are leads exclusive?

Yes. Shared insurance leads mean a prospect fielding calls from several brokers within the hour, which is a poor experience and suppresses conversion for everyone.

Do you understand the advertising rules?

Yes. We run paid acquisition in UK financial services, so claims about cover, outcomes and pricing get built to that standard rather than adjusted after a complaint.

What does an insurance lead cost?

Varies significantly by line. A health enquiry and a motor enquiry have very different values, so it gets worked out against your commission and conversion rather than quoted as one number.
